Welcome to Taylor Canyon - North Bank Area |
||||||||||||
OverviewThe North Bank area is on the road to North Bank campground. The turn off is just past the second buttress on the left. There is a parking area for the use of hikers at the end of this road. However, the North Bank area is actually closer to the second buttress so the parking area at the second buttress is best. It is a short walk up the road and it's the first area that's very close to the road. The right side of the North Bank area is slightly up the hill and faces south (while the rest faces east). |

Climbs Available
(1) Pandemonium (5.10b) Sport - Climb starts on the easily accessable ledge. Follow the large jugs up fading left. Pull up and over the rounded roof and change modes to delicate moves. The last bolt is a bit scary. Find the side pull and back-step. Length: 70' Gear: 6 bolts to anchors (2) Rogue Repeater (5.11c) Sport - Climb shares the first bolt with Persnickety and anchors and the starting ledge of Pandemonium. The crux is pulling up to the ledge using an undercling after the opening jug moves. Length: 70' Gear: 5 bolts to anchors (3) Persnickety (5.11a) Sport - Same opening moves as Rogue Repeater, but at the hardest part, start going right and follow bigger hands up and over to it's own anchors. Length: 70' Gear: 5 bolts to anchors (4) Rogue Arete (5.11a) Sport - Climb the obvious arete. The opening moves can be protected by a cam in the slot on the left. The crux is well above the second bolt but the climbing eases off considerably after the high jug. Length: 80' Gear: 2 bolts and cams to anchors
(5) Dark Overhang (5.10c) Sport - This climb is short but sweet. Pulling the overhang is the crux. Going left is a 5.9+ while following the crimpers straight up right is 5.10c. Length: 40' Gear: 3 bolts to anchors
(6) Unknown (5.9+) Sport - Follow the crack/ledge system. Then traverse out left and pull the 5.9+ slabby bulge to the chains. Length: 50' Gear: 3 bolts to anchors (7) Unknown (5.9+) Sport - To the right of number 7. Cimb the face straight up. Length: 50' Gear: bolts to anchors |
